The 1st Open Call has designated its winners. We received an overwhelming response from Europe’s startup and SME community, with 249 proposals submitted from 37 countries. This remarkable level of participation highlights the strong demand for an open, federated, and energy-efficient digital backbone capable of supporting Europe’s digital and energy transformation.
From this highly competitive pool, 24 companies from 13 countries were selected to receive €100,000 each in equity-free funding. Beyond financial support, the winners will take part in a comprehensive seven-month programme offering tailored technical and business mentoring to help scale their Cloud-Edge-IoT solutions and integrate them into the O-CEI ecosystem.

Our project is actively engaged in eight large-scale pilots that are laying the groundwork for a robust, secure, and energy-efficient digital backbone that will benefit citizens, industries, and the environment across the continent.

The first Open Call is your chance to directly contribute to this groundbreaking work. We are looking for Upscaling Projects – innovative tech providers (SMEs and Startups) who will develop and test their edge solutions in the form of CEI utilities (apps and services). These solutions will tackle real-world challenges identified within our existing large-scale pilots, bringing your technology from concept to impactful application.
