- Describe your company in one paragraph.
Kentyou is a France-based deep-tech SME specialising in data interoperability, urban data platforms, and real-time analytics for smart cities and mobility ecosystems. Founded in 2020 as a spin-off from CEA, the company develops scalable solutions such as the Kentyou Data Hub and Kentyou Eye to integrate, harmonise, and analyse heterogeneous data across Cloud–Edge–IoT environments. Kentyou enables cities, mobility operators, and industrial stakeholders to build data-driven services by ensuring high data quality, interoperability, and actionable insights. With strong involvement in European R&D projects, Kentyou combines research excellence with market-oriented innovation to deliver operational, standards-aligned solutions for sustainable and connected systems.
- What challenge are you addressing under the O-CEI Horizon’s first Open Call, and how is your proposal relevant to the challenge?
The challenge we address under the O-CEI Horizon Open Call is the lack of trustworthy, interoperable, and comparable energy data within Software-Defined Vehicles operating in a Cloud–Edge–IoT continuum. While O-CEI aims to enable vehicles to act as reliable, data-driven nodes in this ecosystem, current energy-monitoring approaches rely on heterogeneous tools (embedded vehicle systems, telematics units, and nomadic devices) that produce inconsistent and non-comparable results. This fragmentation undermines the reliability of analytics, limits optimisation of vehicle and fleet performance, and weakens the credibility of carbon footprint assessments.
Our proposal (EYE-ACCURATE) directly contributes to this challenge by introducing a standardised, cross-source evaluation framework that assesses the accuracy and consistency of energy measurements across these heterogeneous systems. By integrating multiple data sources into the Kentyou Data Hub and applying advanced analytics, we enable unified access, benchmarking, and validation of energy data within the real operational conditions of the O-CEI pilot.
The project is highly relevant to O-CEI because it strengthens one of its core objectives: ensuring trustworthy data exchange and processing across the continuum. Our approach enhances the reliability of Vehicle-as-a-Service (VaS) ecosystems by transforming raw, fragmented measurements into validated, high-quality data that can be confidently used for decision-making, optimisation, and regulatory reporting.
In doing so, we not only support the technical goals of O-CEI but also contribute to its broader vision of enabling scalable, interoperable, and sustainable mobility services across Europe.
- What is the expected impact of your proposal?
The expected impact of the EYE-ACCURATE project is to establish a trusted foundation for energy data in electric and software-defined mobility ecosystems, enabling more reliable decision-making, improved operational efficiency, and stronger environmental accountability.
From a technological perspective, the project delivers the first standardised methodology to evaluate the accuracy and consistency of heterogeneous energy-monitoring tools. By transforming fragmented measurements into validated and comparable data, it significantly enhances the reliability of analytics within the O-CEI ecosystem and strengthens the role of vehicles as trustworthy nodes in the Cloud–Edge–IoT continuum.
From a market perspective, the project opens new opportunities for Energy Measurement Trustworthiness services, including validation, benchmarking, and diagnostic tools for OEMs, fleet operators, and technology providers. It also enhances the Kentyou Eye platform with advanced data-quality indicators, increasing its value for cities and mobility stakeholders seeking robust, data-driven insights.
The environmental impact is substantial. By improving the accuracy of energy consumption data, the project enables more credible carbon footprint calculations, better optimisation of energy usage, and more effective integration of electric vehicles into smart grids. This directly supports European Green Deal objectives and helps stakeholders implement measurable and verifiable decarbonisation strategies.
On a societal level, the project contributes to greater transparency and trust in electric mobility, helping citizens and public authorities better understand real-world energy performance. It also supports improved mobility planning, more efficient transport services, and more inclusive access to sustainable mobility solutions.
