Eclipse Foundation to Host OCX 2026 and the Open Community for Research

As the Open-Source Leader within the O-CEI project, the Eclipse Foundation will host two key events from 21–23 April 2026 in Brussels: the next edition of the Open Community Experience (OCX) and the co-located event Open Community for Research (OCR).

OCX 2026 marks the return of the Eclipse Foundation’s flagship annual conference, building on the success of its inaugural 2024 edition. The event will once again gather the Foundation’s diverse and growing community to share knowledge, showcase technology, and foster collaboration across open-source ecosystems.

Alongside OCX, the Eclipse Foundation will host the Open Community for Research (OCR) — a dedicated forum designed to strengthen collaboration between research projects, industry adopters, and open-source communities. OCR invites researchers working in domains such as software engineering, AI, data science, cloud, edge, and IoT to exchange experiences, present their work, and explore best practices for leveraging open-source technologies in research and innovation.

Participation opportunities at OCR included:

• Call for Presentations: Researchers could submit talks featuring innovative projects, case studies, or technical contributions built on or contributing to open-source technologies.
• Dissemination Materials: Attendees were encouraged to bring posters, flyers, rollups, stickers, or other outreach materials to showcase their research and project achievements.
• Attendee Registration: Participants had the opportunity to engage directly with experts, receive valuable feedback, and explore new collaborations within the Eclipse ecosystem.
