O-CEI Pilots 5 and 6 at the CEI-Sphere Webinar on Smart and Sustainable Agriculture
On 17 September 2026, O-CEI Horizon Pilots 5 and 6 joined a CEI-Sphere webinar exploring how Cloud-Edge-IoT technologies can support smarter, more sustainable agricultural operations in real-world environments.
As part of the webinar, O-CEI Pilot 5 presented how edge intelligence and controlled data sharing between stables and dairies can contribute to a more sustainable Halloumi cheese production chain. The use case highlighted the role of connected technologies in improving coordination and supporting more efficient and sustainable dairy production.
O-CEI Pilot 6 showcased its work on smart recharging and energy efficiency for robot tractors operating in large fruit production fields. The presentation demonstrated how Cloud-Edge-IoT technologies, connectivity, data, and edge intelligence can be combined to support more efficient agricultural operations while addressing energy needs in the field.
The webinar also brought together other CEI-Sphere pilots working on agrifood applications, providing a broader perspective on the challenges and opportunities involved in deploying Cloud-Edge-IoT technologies in agriculture. Discussions highlighted common topics including interoperability, data governance, scalability, and energy awareness at the edge.
