SUMMARY:SEMANTiCS 2026 - Practical Showcase (Practitioners Track)
DESCRIPTION:O-CEI Horizon will be represented at SEMANTiCS 2026 through the “Semantic Harness for Community-Centric Energy Flexibility: Boosting User Acceptance through Explainable Agentic AI” in the Practical Showcase (Practitioners Track). \nThe work is framed within O-CEI Pilot 8 and builds on the contributions of SAIHAN4EF\, one of the projects supported through the O-CEI Horizon 1st Open Call Programme. During the showcase\, the team will demonstrate how semantic technologies and agentic AI can be combined to make energy flexibility management more intelligent\, explainable\, and accessible to end users. \nAt the centre of the demonstration will be the Semantic Harness for LLM-driven Agents (SA-H)\, presented in the paper “. It combines Knowledge Graphs\, semantic reasoning\, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG/GraphRAG)\, MCP-enabled tools\, and controlled workflows. The approach is designed to connect LLM-driven agents with real-world energy systems while grounding their reasoning in structured and trusted knowledge. \nThe practical showcase will use a smart-home energy flexibility scenario to demonstrate how knowledge-grounded LLM reasoning can support optimised energy scheduling. Beyond optimisation itself\, the prototype will focus on explaining system decisions in natural language\, helping users understand how and why flexibility actions are recommended. \nThis combination of intelligent optimisation and transparent interaction will highlight an important aspect of O-CEI’s work on energy flexibility: technology must make energy systems smarter and also make them understandable and trustworthy for the people who use and interact with them. \nThe presentation will provide an opportunity to showcase the results and practical potential of the SAIHAN4EF project\, while opening discussion on how semantic and agentic AI approaches can support the development of more intelligent\, explainable\, and user-centric energy systems.
