SUMMARY:Data Spaces Symposium 2026
DESCRIPTION:Towards a European Mobility Data Space: Interoperability\, Governance\, and Compliance \n The O-CEI project\, through its partner ERTICO-ITS Europe\, will support the SDV pilot integration and the link to the future European Mobility Data Space. The topic will be presented as “Towards a European Mobility Data Space: Interoperability\, Governance\, and Compliance.” \nOver two days\, a wide audience will be introduced to some of the most advanced mobility initiatives\, including O-CEI\, deployEMDS\, NAPCORE\, NAPCORE X\, SCUDO\, 3DxVERSE\, and BoostEDIC Transport & Logistics. These projects will demonstrate how to establish a federated\, interoperable\, and trusted environment for data exchange among mobility operators\, public authorities\, service providers\, and other key stakeholders. Data will be shared in a sovereign\, governed\, and auditable manner through certified connectors and standardized semantic models such as DATEX II (Data Exchange for Traffic and Travel Information\, CEN/TC 278)\, NeTEx (Network Timetable Exchange\, CEN/TS 16614)\, and SIRI (Service Interface for Real-Time Information\, CEN/TS 15531). \nThe proposed architecture will be fully aligned with the principles of European Data Spaces\, IDSA\, and GAIA-X\, providing a robust foundation where regulatory compliance\, analytics\, and operational decision-making will be based on reliable\, machine-readable data. \nBy adopting this approach\, mobility solutions will actively contribute to the success of a data space by enabling secure and governed data sharing among multiple stakeholders\, while ensuring interoperability\, traceability\, and controlled access. The framework will also support automated compliance\, predictive analytics\, and improved operational efficiency\, in full alignment with the objectives of the EU Mobility Data Space. \nUltimately\, this approach will reduce administrative burdens\, will strengthen regulatory oversight\, and will enable the safe and scalable deployment of innovative mobility services. The event will showcase the practical application of the SDV concept as part of the Cloud-Edge-IoT continuum technologies promoted by O-CEI.

SUMMARY:Scaling up CEI pilots: Discover the open calls of O-CEI and COP-PILOT
DESCRIPTION:O-CEI participated in a joint webinar organised within the CEI-Sphere framework to highlight how open calls support the transition of Cloud-Edge-IoT (CEI) research from concept to real-world deployment. During the session\, the project presented the key outcomes and lessons learned from its first open call\, offering guidance to organisations interested in scaling innovative CEI solutions. \nThe webinar also introduced the running COP-PILOT open call and explored strategic approaches to participation beyond procedural aspects\, demonstrating how collaboration across initiatives can enhance impact\, visibility\, and scalability within the CEI ecosystem. \nThe event targeted potential applicants\, innovators\, and stakeholders seeking to expand pilots through European funding opportunities. \nDid you miss it? SUMMARY:Eclipse Foundation Open Community Experience
DESCRIPTION:Open-Source Strategies for Europe’s Sovereign Digital Infrastructure: Striving for Industrial European Open-Source Platforms \nThis workshop\, organized during Eclipse’s Open Community Experience event\, will focus on Europe’s need to strengthen digital sovereignty by building viable alternatives to dominant global digital platforms as the industry rapidly transitions toward software-defined and AI-driven systems. \nParticipants will explore how open-source ecosystems can support a sovereign software stack spanning cloud\, edge\, IoT\, and AI\, ensuring secure\, interoperable\, and resilient digital infrastructures while addressing emerging policy developments related to Europe’s new Open-Source strategy. \nThe workshop will feature contributions from policymakers and research leaders\, including Rolf Riemenschneider\, Project Officer for O-CEI Horizon and COP-PILOT Horizon. \nThe O-CEI coordinating team will actively contribute by presenting how Cloud-Edge-IoT continuum technologies enable interoperable industrial platforms and trustworthy data infrastructures across multiple sectors: software-defined vehicles\, energy systems\, and the telco-cloud-edge-AI continuum. \nDiscussions will also address the CEI-Spheres and Hourglass architectural model\, and their operationalisation of open-source strategies. \nBy connecting research\, industry\, and policy perspectives\, the workshop aims to demonstrate how collaborative open-source development can evolve into a coordinated European digital infrastructure capable of ensuring technological autonomy\, trusted data exchange\, and scalable innovation across critical sectors. \nParticipants: \n\nRolf Riemenschneider\, European Commission\nTanya Suarez\, BluSpecs\nAntonio Kung\, Trialog\nGiovanni Rimassa\, Martel Innovate\nIgnacio Lacalle Ubeda\, UPV\, O-CEI Horizon coordination team\nRepresentative of COP-PILOT Horizon\n\nRegister here: https://www.ocxconf.org/event/2026/registration
