SUMMARY:“Prosumers d’Energie dans les Destinations de Montagne”\, Conference for the Association VALPIC (Association des Propriétaires - Crans-Montana - Lens - Icogne)
DESCRIPTION:Pilot 8 discussed social acceptance of local energy communities in Crans-Montana \nOn 15 August 2026\, O-CEI Pilot 8 contributed to the conference “Prosumers d’Energie dans les Destinations de Montagne”\, organised by the VALPIC association in Crans-Montana\, Valais\, Switzerland. \nThe presentation\, “Social Acceptance in Local Electricity Communities (LECs)”\, addressed the evolving role of citizens from energy consumers to prosumers\, the potential synergies between Local Electricity Communities and artificial intelligence\, and Pilot 8’s work within O-CEI and the BRIDGE community. The session also introduced the pilot’s research methodology for assessing the social acceptance of new energy technologies and community-based energy models. \nThe presentation was followed by an open discussion with participants\, focusing on social acceptability\, local governance\, and citizen ownership in the energy transition. The exchange provided relevant perspectives on the expectations and concerns of local communities and reinforced the importance of integrating societal considerations into the development of future energy systems. \n  \n \n \n \n \n

SUMMARY:6th IWAPS 2026 (International Workshop on Advances on Security and Privacy Technologies and Solutions) in conjunction with the 21st International Conference on Availability\, Reliability and Security (ARES)
DESCRIPTION:The O-CEI Horizon project will be represented at the 6th IWAPS 2026\, held in conjunction with the ARES 2026. This scientific workshop brings together researchers and innovators working on advanced security and privacy technologies\, with a strong focus on trustworthy AI\, IoT security\, and data governance models. The event is co-organised by leading European initiatives\, including the active involvement of InQbit Innovations\, our partner in O-CEI\, which serves as co-organiser and contributes to shaping the workshop’s multidisciplinary programme. \nIWAPS 2026 directly aligns with O-CEI’s core technical priorities around security\, trust\, and digital identity within the Cloud-Edge-IoT continuum. The workshop provides an important platform to exchange knowledge and disseminate research on topics such as secure interoperability\, privacy-preserving AI\, trustworthy data sharing\, and resilient IoT and edge environments\, all central to the O-CEI vision. \nThrough its participation\, O-CEI contributes to ongoing discussions on how to build secure\, compliant\, and interoperable digital infrastructures in Europe\, supporting the development of solutions based on zero-trust principles\, self-sovereign identity\, and trusted cross-domain data exchange. \nInterested parties are invited to submit papers according to the following schedule: \n\nSubmission Deadline: May 18\, 2026\nAuthor Notification: June 01\, 2026\nProceedings Version: June 13\, 2026

DESCRIPTION:Indigma AI Presents Research on Privacy-Preserving EV Demand Prediction at IWAPS Workshop (ARES Conference) \nIndigma\, winner of the O-CEI Horizon 1st Open Call\, will present the paper “Federated Learning for Electric Vehicle Energy Demand Prediction Across Distributed Users\,” at the International Workshop on Advances on Security and Privacy Technologies and Solutions (IWAPS)\, held in conjunction with the International Conference on Availability\, Reliability and Security (ARES). \nThis work directly builds upon Indigma’s ARIEL initiative (federAted oRchestration In Ev fLeets) within O-CEI Pilot 3\, demonstrating how Edge AI and Federated Learning can enable smart\, privacy-preserving energy management for large-scale electric vehicle (EV) fleets without centralizing sensitive operational data. By keeping raw telemetry localized at fleet depots and charging stations\, while sharing only trained model parameters\, Indigma’s work provides a trustworthy\, scalable\, and privacy-first foundation for European smart grid management and logistics fleets.
