- Describe your company in one paragraph.
Hexacode Solutions is an emerging real-time asset management software developer based in Montréal. We have developed an Asset Performance Management (APM) platform with Digital Twin characteristics designed to apply complex degradation algorithms to millions of assets and components, supporting decision-making based on condition assessment, predictive and prescriptive analytics, from commissioning to disposition.
Our focus is on critical infrastructures, which are essential to society, and are characterized by a large number of assets across multiple asset types. Our target markets are: electrical and gas utilities, municipal, communication, and transportation infrastructures.
- What challenge are you addressing under the O-CEI Horizon’s first Open Call, and how is your proposal relevant to the challenge?
The O-CEI APM-EVCI project aims to develop and validate an Asset Performance Management (APM) digital twin for large scale EV charging infrastructure, using a Cloud–Edge–IoT architecture to monitor charger health, and support data-driven asset management decisions across heterogeneous networks. The core problem it addresses is that EV adoption is increasingly constrained by unreliable access to charging stations: field data show availability rates often below 95%, with frequent outages that are difficult to diagnose remotely, leading to billing losses, poor quality of service, and user dissatisfaction. Today’s charger management tools are largely focused on transactions and basic fault monitoring, relying on reactive or calendar-based maintenance that does not account for real-time asset and component condition. These limitations create a structural gap between reported uptime and user perceived reliability, undermine confidence in e-mobility, erode infrastructure ROI, and slow progress toward climate and energy transition targets.
- What is the expected impact of your proposal?
The proposed project positions Hexacode beyond the current state of the art in EV infrastructure management by introducing both condition and predictive, data-driven operational models instead of reactive or calendar-based maintenance, which is commonly utilized through Enterprise Asset Management Systems. It applies a Cloud–Edge–IoT continuum, leveraging 5G connectivity to ensure that each charging point or station acts as an intelligent node within a global
ecosystem. The ambition is to raise the average network availability of EV infrastructures while simultaneously reducing operational costs. Hexacode also aims to standardize the concept of a Charging Infrastructure Health Index, providing operators and investors with a quantifiable and comparable reliability metric. By combining these elements under a single interoperable platform, Hexacode contributes to the O-CEI vision of trusted, resilient, and sustainable e-mobility supported by advanced digital technologies.
