O-CEI Horizon will participate in Enlit Europe 2026, taking place from 10–12 November in Vienna, Austria, to showcase its progress in developing an open, interoperable and sustainable Cloud-Edge-IoT (CEI) ecosystem. Together with CEI-Sphere and COP-PILOT, O-CEI will engage with the European energy community, share insights from its large-scale pilots and highlight opportunities for innovation through its upcoming second Open Call.
Meet O-CEI at the EU Projects Zone
Throughout the event, O-CEI will share a joint booth with CEI-Sphere and COP-PILOT in the EU Projects Zone.
Visitors will be able to learn more about O-CEI’s objectives, its eight Large-Scale Pilots and the technologies being developed and validated across different sectors. Particular attention will be given to the upcoming second O-CEI Open Call, offering an opportunity for SMEs, start-ups and technology providers to learn more about the programme and explore how their solutions could contribute to the project.
The team will also be available to discuss the O-CEI Pilots, reusable digital assets and the project’s approach to building scalable Cloud-Edge-IoT solutions.
CEI-Sphere workshop: Upscaling open-source Cloud-Edge-IoT tools
On Tuesday, 10 November, from 14:00 to 15:00 CET, O-CEI will participate in the CEI-Sphere workshop “Upscaling open-source Cloud-Edge-IoT tools emanating from EC efforts”, held in EU Projects Zone Hub 1, Hall C.
The session will explore how O-CEI and COP-PILOT are adopting Cloud-Edge-IoT technologies for monitoring, data management, security, privacy, and orchestration, building on earlier European investments in Meta Operating Systems and telecommunications innovation, including SNS and 5G/6G.
A key focus will be how the projects are structuring their results through blueprints and standardised methodologies, making technologies and solutions easier to reuse beyond individual projects and applications. The session will also feature an external perspective from the BRIDGE initiative.
O-CEI will be represented by Andreu Belsa Pellicer from Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), the project’s coordinating partner. Ioanna Drigkopoulou, COP-PILOT Project Coordinator, will also contribute to the exchange, bringing perspectives from the complementary large-scale project.

O-CEI at the European Commission’s DG CNECT session
O-CEI will also participate in a session hosted by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CNECT) on Wednesday, 11 November, from 14:00 to 15:30 CET.
The session will bring together representatives from O-CEI, COP-PILOT and other EU-funded initiatives, with one representative from each project presenting its work. It will provide an opportunity to share project developments and demonstrate how European research and innovation initiatives are contributing to the advancement and adoption of Cloud-Edge-IoT technologies.
Connect with O-CEI in Vienna
Enlit Europe brings together utilities, grid operators, technology providers, policymakers and research projects working to advance the energy transition. For O-CEI, it is an opportunity to demonstrate how Cloud-Edge-IoT technologies can support energy flexibility, efficient data management, interoperability and the deployment of solutions across real-world energy systems.
